I am currently a junior at DePauw University and I am majoring in Communications with a minor in Business Administration. My sports experience has included being a marketing intern for the Indianapolis Colts (bring on the Colts-Pats debates!), coverage of the Kentucky Wildcats Men’s basketball team, and sports writer for the DePauw newspaper. Born and raised in Indianapolis, IN you might be wondering what I’m doing contributing to a Celtics blog. To be frank, I haven’t always been a diehard Celtics fan. I’ve been an NBA and overall sports nut since as long as I can remember, but in the past, I was never able to fully identify myself with a team. The Pacers, even in the Reggie Miller days, just never clicked with me. Allen Iverson (yes I’m one of those) was my favorite player and I followed him team to team almost as close as his entourage, but when that flame burnt out, I remained a sports enthusiast without a true home. The Boston Celtics gave me that home. The Celtics are a family; they look out for each other and hold teamwork, sacrifice, and the will to win above all else. The Celtics hold themselves to the championship standard, and anything less is considered a failure and unacceptable. Although not from Boston, the Celtics are my team and will be for life. I am honored to be working with Celtics 24/7 and can’t wait to share my thoughts and opinions with Celtics nation. I promise to bring an unbiased opinion and to tell it like it is. Sports truly are my passion and working in sports someday is definitely the dream job. I’m happy to be here and look forward to contributing for a long time. Go Celtics!
Rajon Rondo, as expected, has received a one game suspension for chest-bumping referee Marc Davis and will unfortunately miss Game 2 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against the Atlanta Hawks. This really shouldn’t come as a surprise as league rules state that if a player or coach intentionally physically contacts an official, it is [...]
Mickael Pietrus has been a good fit in Boston so far this season. He’s a savvy veteran that has helped stop the bleeding after losing Jeff Green before the season even started. He’s nowhere near as good as Jeff Green, but I have appreciated his services and positive mindset all year while giving solid minutes. [...]
In the midst of trade rumors swirling around Rajon Rondo, the 3-time All-Star has emerged to post some of his best numbers of the season. On Sunday against the Knicks he had the basketball world buzzing with an outstanding performance of 18 points, 17 rebounds, and 20 assists in a 115-111 OT thriller. It was [...]
Rajon Rondo will have more responsibility representing the Boston Celtics this All-Star weekend as he has been chosen to fill in for Stephen Curry in the Taco Bell NBA Skills Challenge. Curry, the defending champion, is out with a strained tendon in his right foot. Rondo will be competing against Cleveland’s Kyrie Irving, San Antonio’s Tony [...]
The upcoming road trips will most definitely be the toughest test the Celtics will face this regular season. After a home matchup versus the ailing Detroit Pistons on Wednesday (the 15th), they embark on a five game road trip visiting the Bulls, Pistons, Mavericks, Thunder, and Cavaliers. The Thunder and Cavaliers matchup will, however, be [...]
What looked like what was going to be a Christmas catastrophe nearly turned into a Christmas miracle today as the Celtics fell to the New York Knicks 106-104. Although the loss certainly put a damper on my Christmas spirit initially, we are Boston Celtics fans, we are intelligent fans, and we should understand that this [...]
Allen Iverson could give the Celtics what they need.
