JaJuan Johnson: Mock Interview
Articles, NBA Draft — By JC-H on June 27, 2011 at 12:57 amI missed my chance this year to do a mock draft, so instead I decided to pretend to sit down with the Celtics (eventual) number 1 draft choice, JaJuan Johnson and talk about his incoming season (Stern willing) in a Mock Interview.
JC-H: Congratulations on becoming the newest member of the Celtics organization.
JaJuan Johnson: Thanks man, really excited to be here and to be doing this interview. Can you make sure to refer to me as JaJuJo, I want people to start getting excited about that nickname.
JC-H: No problem, JaJuJo, so first question, what’s the biggest difference between you and Chris Johnson?
JaJuJo: My name is Jajuan.
JC-H: The last Celtic to be a number one pick from Indiana was Eric Montross, how does that make you feel?
JaJuJo: Sad, ashamed, a little angry, but I like to look on the positive side, I can’t do much worse, can I?
JC-H: Are you excited about being mentored by one of the all time greats, Kevin Garnett?
JaJuJo: I am, my father has been yelling at me non-stop since draft day to prepare me for the season.
JC-H: It’s important to have mental toughness in this league, what’s the most challenging thing you’ve faced so far in your young life?
JaJuJo: I was on the New Jersey Nets for a few minutes.
JC-H: Let’s do a little word association. I’ll say the name of a player and you say the first thing that comes your mind…Ray Allen.
JaJuJo: 3 point master.
JC-H: Paul Pierce.
JaJuJo: I’d like to avoid being stabbed in the face my rookie season.
JC-H: Delonte West.
JaJuJo: My mom is happily married.
JC-H: Von Wafer.
JaJuJo: E’Twaun Moore.
JC-H: Big Baby Davis.
JaJuJo: I’ll look good in number 11.
JC-H: Kevin Garnett.
JaJuJo: Yes, Sir!!
JC-H: Jeff Green.
JaJuJo: Who?
JC-H: He joined the Celtics after the All Star break, was supposed to give them an offensive punch going into the playoffs.
JaJuJo: Are you sure? I don’t remember seeing him in the playoffs.
JC-H: What is the most exciting thing for you about playing for the Celtics next year?
JaJuJo: Not having to play for the Nets.
JC-H: Any final thoughts you want to share with our readers?
JaJuJo: Don’t expect too much and you wont be disappointed.

Mock interview? You shouldn’t put words in a young rookie’s mouth like that, especially when he already has a long road ahead of him to prove himself to his peers and Celtics Fans.
If JaJuJo don’t laugh with us (Jeff Green, too) on this one I’m afraid he will have a short, forgettable career in the NBA. Now, how do you pronounce JaJuJo? Is it with all hard ‘J’s’ GhaGhuGho, or os the second one soft … GhaWhuGho?
Good read from you guys.
