The X-Files: Case #RL-0035 The Boston Conspiracy
News — By Celtics Fan 35 on May 25, 2011 at 4:53 pmNope you are not
on the wrong blog, this is going to come full circle and bring this back to basketball. But a good friend in the government has send me an encrypted email that simply states that Agent Mulder and Agent Scully are looking into a potential conspiracy sent to the X-Files unit by an anonymous informant.
Ok, ya that went about as well as explaining to your dad why you bought a Yankees cap… I would know nothing about ever doing that in my childhood.
So back to this disaster of a blog so far.
Today I received my newest issue of Dime Magazine and one of the feature cover articles made me think, and I have a thought in my head that may completely contradict my most recent blog post about “Being Danny for a Day.”
Austin Rivers is likely a one-and-done at Duke, one would think, but maybe dad has encouraged he push out four-years and tear up the NCAA, who knows. This is one case where coming out is not about money.
Doc signed for 5 years, I was trying to figure out why just one summer ago with a Championship Finals team he has such a hard time committing to one year and this summer he jumped right on for 5-years. Does Doc know his offspring is only putting in one year and the Celtics plan to make a serious play either through draft spot or trading up to get Rivers junior? Have they discussed the prospect of having a father-son dynasty in the making with Grousbeck and Ainge?
Makes me wonder.
O.K. back to Earth now.

… dubious. But it would be cool if Austin turns out to be all he’s made out to be. Coach K works wonders with point guards. We’ve got Rondo, though, so better file this under… well, x-file works.
I think it’s a strong possibility we look at him come draft time. Maybe we package our first and the Clippers first in exchange for a top pick? Would that even be enough though is the question.
Rivers is a top prospect, but let’s see how he pans out at Duke first. Would definitely love to add a top prospect to the roster, though.
