2011 NBA Draft: Celtics’ Potential Targets
In my mind, the NBA season is broken down into four parts: the off season, the preseason, the regular season and the postseason. Outside of our title runs, nothing gets me going like the off season where the draft, trades and free agent acquisitions flood the headlines. Today, I’m going to turn my focus on [...]
2011 NBA Draft: Point Guards
A general understanding of NBA rosters is all you need to figure out that the NBA has evolved into a perimeter player’s league. The American pro game is now virtually
run by guards and wings that possess some combination of speed, quickness, athleticism and the ability to create off the dribble. It’s no secret that coaches and executives around the league salivate at the mouth at the opportunity to snag an elite prospect with those characteristics, and for good reason.
Know When To Hold Em
If you Google “trade rumors Rajon Rondo” you won’t find much, but it if you listen to local analysts, and fans you can sense fear when they talk about the future of Rondo. By all accounts Rondo wasn’t himself after the Perkins trade, and didn’t exactly perform at the highest level for the second half [...]

Working With What We’ve Got
In the wake of the offseason there’s lots of talk about what’s next for the Celtics. Getting younger, faster, and more athletic seem to be the most common fixes in the minds of the fans. Then’s there’s the speculation of which free agents we can scoop up after the CBA makes it that much more [...]

Celtics captain Paul Pierce has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season. Pierce guided injury-depleted Boston to four wins last week, averaging 21.8 points on 58.7 percent shooting (27 for 46) from the floor. Pierce also won the Player of the Week honor back on Dec. 20. It's the third time this season a Boston player earned the honor, with Rajon Rondo taking home the award for the first week of the 2010-11 season. Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook earned this week's nod for the Western Conference. Celtics guard Ray Allen was also nominated for the East honor.
