With the impending acquisition of Carlos Arroyo, let’s take a look at how the finished roster measures up regarding cut and dry statistics as well as intangible experience.

Centers

Jermaine O’Neal, 32 years old, 6’11″, 14 years in NBA, 81 playoff games, 21 blocks in 17 games this year, 6-time NBA All-Star.
Nenad Krstic, 27 years old, 7’0″, 6 years in NBA, 21 playoff games, career 10.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, 2004-2006 Top 5 in personal fouls (but he’s not tough).
Average age: 28.87, let’s call it 29.
By the way, this myth and gripe that the Celtics got “smaller” is absolutely false. Harangody, Erden and Perkins were the only players traded of any significant size while the additions of Murphy, Pavlovic and Green paired with the O’Neals actually makes this team “bigger”. It does much more than that in theory.
