St. Valentine’s Day Massacre or St. Patrick’s Day Miracle… You Decide

I know, I know the first thing that comes to mind is that it is neither St. V’s day or St. Patty’s Day, well it is actually smack dab in the middle of both and we will know by St. Patty’s day if this was a C’s miracle or massacre.

I am very leery of Boss Ainge right now, in fact if we were in the same room I may try out some of those jujitsu armlocks I see the MMA guys dropping on the PPV’s.  But he has a way of working deals that at first seem idiotic, but turn out to be a Godsend.  I am willing to give him sometime to play this out before I start throwing elbows.

Rumor has it this is all a grand plan to land Dwight Howard, if Ainge pulls that off I may be in favor of erasing Red’s signature off the floor and adding Danny’s.  Danny and I will be alright if that happens.

Losing Perk was about the worst possible scenario I could have imagined waking up this AM.  I knew Rondo, Pierce and Co were all safe, not unless Ainge had some career suicide in mind, but to lose Perk or (thank God) Davis was never a consideration.   I knew Nate was on the block, I love Nate the person, but Nate the player was getting lost in the Celtics bench depth.  I hope for the best in his career for him and I hope he gets the minutes he deserves in OKC, to bad they moved from Seattle Nate.

Losing Semih was another move I just don’t understand, he was young and had more hearth then 80% of the players in the league with only a fraction of their talent and their payroll.  He did the job when he was needed and never complained when he rode the bench for days on end, he will be missed and I just don’t really understand his departure.

I hope this was not a dump move because the Celtics had a legitimate shot at the Title run and cashing it in for the future would be just plain dumb.

Two weeks ago during St V’s dinner I am sure the Celtics crossed my mind and I know I was confident and optimistic about their chances to unseat the Sunshine Kids, and in two weeks myself and the rest of us will know if we should be planning vacations in June.

Grade is incomplete on trades until we see who fills the roster spots. If Celts find a strong, defensive minded center from the players soon to be bought out, they will be better. We all loved Perk and his work ethic, but he was limited because he was coming off the injury, and he was not going to sign for next year. If we can find a defensive minded center who can block a few shots, defend the pick and roll, and rebound, we will be a better team. Camby anyone?
