Monday Tidbits:Rondo,2-1 Start,Look Ahead To This Week
Articles — By John Collins on November 1, 2010 at 5:34 pmSeven Days into the NBA season and It has been and up and down week for the Celtics this past week. It started with opening night and the win over Heat last Tuesday and a loss the next night in Cleveland against the Lebron less Cavs. Then came the fight after practice Friday between Delonte West and Von Wafer that both players said it was nothing personal just playing hard in practice and emotions got the best of them both. Beating the Knicks at Home Friday night to improve to 2-1 on the young season. Shaq getting hurt in the win but seems to be a minor knee injury and we should expect this from the Big Shamrock all year so it is nothing that I am going to worry about as it is way to early. The other O’Neal may be a concern as it is taking him longer then expected to get use to his new role and not being a top scorer on a team for the first time in his career is something he needs to get use to. I think Jermaine needs to get healthy and get himself on the court for a long period of time and be able to play some meaningful minutes before he starts worrying about how many touches he is going to get in a game. All in all a pretty good first week for the Celtics.
-Rondo was named Eastern Conference Player of the week as he leads the league in assists this season so far.
- Beating Miami was a big win to get the season going but losing to Cleveland was the classic trap game. It was nice to see a nice win over the Knicks. It is a nice rest for the Celtics to have 3 days off before heading to Detroit Monday afternoon for a Tuesday night game at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
- The C’s have a big week coming up as they play 5 games in 7 night starting with at Detroit on Tuesday night which is always a tough place to play and then headed home for another back to back as they will play an improved Bucks team at Home. Friday night they will have there first show down of the season at the Garden against the Bulls and then head out on the road for a four game series starting Sunday at Oklahoma City vs the best young team in the game the Thunder and play the next night against one of the top teams in the Western Conference the Dallas Mavericks to end the week. That does not end the road trip as they play the Heat on Thursday in a rematch down in Miami then Memphis before heading home.

You forgot Big Baby’s hot start. Best guy off the bench for the Green so far by a long shot.
What in the hell is Big Baby Davis doing face down, with his legs high in the air, while caressing a golden ball?
