I like Wafer. He can shoot the ball, finish at the rim, he plays with good energy and he hit a lot of big shots for Houston down the stretch of games. I like like hit fit here, and how what he brings can benefit Quis. Nate can bring the ball up, Wafer can spread the floor, and Quis can relegate to his true strength as a scorer (go to work via triple-threat off the catch at 10-12 feet). If the defense collapses, Quis is smart enough to make the right play and kick it back out to an open shooter. If they go 1-on-1, Quis will probably get a good (yet awkward) pull-up shot off the bounce in the paint.

I like the lineups we can use. You can put Quis with Paul, Ray or Wafer. You can play Wafer with Paul or Quis, and even Ray at times against some of the smaller wing rotations. And they all bring something different. Doc has options, and he can play around with rotations.

We need something or someone to trade to the Blazers to get Rudy. Seeing as how the Celtics signed him for the minimum deal, maybe it was to get trading power? Time will tell! I really want Rudy for power off the bench!

Well the more I research Wafer, the more I like him, but yeah I definitely still want Rudy. I just don’t see Rudy, Wafer, and Marquis all getting minutes. Not to mention fitting in Avery somewhere.

wafer was huge in houston. can defend much better than fernandez too. i only ever wanted fernandez because i hoped we’d get pryzbilla in the trade with him, but realistically i dont think that would have happened anyway!

So what does this mean for Rudy Fernandez I wonder? I hope this doesn’t eliminate the chance of us getting him. Wafer does nothing for me.
